Mozambique renders memories of reading books under palm trees of white beaches, collecting pansy shells in sheltered bays with our kids, and big game fishing at dawn. More recently, as the inner areas of this country have begun to recover from decades of war, her natural environment has slowly rehabilitated, hopefully marking the beginning of her climb to one of the most sought after wildlife destinations on the continent. Pristine islands and undiscovered wilderness
Mozambique is situated on the east coast of Africa on the Indian Ocean coastline north of South Africa and south of Tanzania, with Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi to her west. Dotted with popular beaches, offshore marine park and beautiful islands, Mozambique also has access to vast inland areas of thus far little travelled wilderness areas such as Gorongoza. The Bazaruto Archipelago farther south has reefs which protect rare marine life including dugongs.
The international airports of Vilanculos and Pemba connect Mozambique to destinations in Southern and East Africa. Our preferred route from international destinations is into South Africa and then onto Mozambique with Airlink.
Private and scheduled charters are possible from either Johannesburg or Nelspruit to various destinations within Mozambique. Most island resorts are reached by helicopter but some of the lodges are also accessible by boat.
